Sometimes referred to as "poor man's saffron," historically annatto seeds have been used as a natural dye. It is commonly used to colour cheddar cheese and cosmetics. Aside from its colouring properties, it also brings a sweet, peppery, yet smoky flavour to dishes. In Latin America, it is known as achiote and commonly sold as a paste, and is imperative to create dishes like cochinita pibil, a popular Mexican braised pork dish. 

Glass Jar: 180 ml, contains 3/4 cup. 

Flat Pack: 4" x 6" x 2", contains 1/2 cup.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry and dark place away from heat.
