Dill seeds are oval and flattened with five ribs, a popular addition to Indian curries and used almost exclusively for pickles elsewhere. They have the flavour of anise and a hint of caraway, with a mild bitterness. Great in bread like rye, and go very well with other carbohydrates like potatoes and other vegetables. They are extremely light, with 10,000 seeds weighing only 25 grams!
