Probably one of the most recognized and used spices around the world, known for its sweet, floral aroma. Native to Mexico and Central America and first cultivated by the Totonac people. Interestingly, it is the fruit of a perennial, climbing orchid, which develops its signature flavour after fermentation. These vanilla beans are from Madagascar and feature a rich and balanced flavour. 

Most vanilla flavoured foods are made with synthetic vanillin, made from paper mill waste and coal-tar extracts (seriously, yuck). You deserve the real deal. It is often thought of as a culinary luxury as vanilla is the second most expensive spice due to its labour-intensive production in which the plants are pollinated by hand.

The glass tube contains 1 vanilla bean, appx 7" in length.
